The Pietenpol Air Camper Source Document

If you are interested in the Pietenpol Air Camper specifically, this Manual is the original 1933 publication where the design was introduced to a generation of amateur builders. The Pietenpol family and the Brodhead Pietenpol Association still produce updated plans today, but the 1933 article is the historical seed of the entire Pietenpol movement.

A Time Capsule of Depression-Era American Aviation

The 1933 Manual reflects a specific moment in American aviation. The country was deep in the Depression. Commercial aviation was beyond ordinary means. The homebuilt movement was the path by which middle-class Americans actually got into the air. The designs in this Manual were chosen for their simplicity, affordability, and accessibility — qualities that still make them excellent first-build choices today.

Who This Is For

This bundle suits the homebuilt-aircraft enthusiast, the Pietenpol or Corben prospective builder, the aviation historian, and the collector of authentic period publications. It is a complete reference library on a vintage homebuilt aviation, not a single-design plan set — outstanding per-page value for someone interested in the era.
