About the Aircraft

The Spirit of St Louis is aviation’s most iconic aircraft. This larger 1/8 scale version allows for more detail and produces a commanding model at nearly 6 feet wingspan. The increased size also provides better flying characteristics for RC operation, with more stable and realistic flight behaviour.

Construction

Traditional balsa construction at a larger scale. The bigger model allows for more structural detail and easier installation of scale details.
